‘Chaalis Chauraasi’ Hindi Comedy Movie Upcoming release Jan 2012
“Chaalis Chauraasi” is an upcoming Bollywood crime comedy film directed by Hriday Shetty
Starring Naseeruddin Shah, Atul Kulkarni, Kay Kay Menon and Ravi Kishan. Most of the film was shot in Mumbai. It is scheduled to release on January 13, 2012
One police van -- MH-02-A- 4084, four Cops, one night, one job, one hell of a ride, is what Hriday Shetty's new directorial film titled 'Chaalis Chauraasi', in one line.
Produced by MAASK Entertainment in association with Filament Glo (India), Chaalis Chauraasi stars extremely talented and experienced actors like Naseeruddin Shah, Kay Kay Menon, Atul Kulkarni and Ravi Kishan. The film also casts Rajesh Sharma better known for his memorable stints in Ishqiya, No One Killed Jessica, and Khosla Ka Ghosla. The film is written by Yash-Vinay and the music in the film is by Lalit Pandit. The film is in the production stage and is being shot in Mumbai.
Plot:
Exploring a humour crime genre, Chaalis Chauraasi is like a rollercoaster ride in an amusement park, except that it takes place in a police van. Basically Chaalis Chauraasi is the name of Police Van in the Movie as you can see in the poster above :) . The story of the film revolves around 4 cops Pankaj Suri aka SIR (Naseeruddin Shah), Albert Pinto aka PINTO (Kay Kay Menon), Bhaskar Sardesai aka BOBBY (Atul Kulkarni) and Shakti Chinappa aka SHAKTI (Ravi Kishan); who see an opportunity to a great future when they are given a mission to pull off. Things take a twist when another cop stops their van en-route and takes them as his backup to catch a dangerous gangster.

The story unfolds through the night where the fine line between law and crime is repeatedly crossed, leading to unexpected situations, sometimes very hilarious. The 4 guys who think of themselves as very rough and tough, macho men encounter situations where they are forced to reckon with a different truth about themselves.

Chhote Nawab Bollywood Hindi Movie 1961 by Mehmood Comedy Movies
Chhote Nawab (Chote Nawab) 1961 : This is one of the oldest classic Bollywood Movie Directed by S.A. Akbar.
This movie was made in 1961 under the banner of Mumtaz Films. Mehmood Ali was casted as Chote Nawab ,The lead hero of the Movie. Other Star cast includes Helen, Minoo Mumtaz, Johnny Walker, Ameeta, S N Banerjee, Anwar Hussain, Nasir Hussain (II), Jugnu, Achala Sachdev. The music of the movie became a great hit at that time and was composed by R D Burman (Music Director) written by Shailendra(Lyricists) and sung by Lata Mangeshkar and Modh Rafi (Singers).
Plot: Movie revolves around Mehmood (Chote Nawab) Who is Naive, milk-drinker, childlike born on Leap year i.e February 29th, Our Story begins in Lucknow where Bade Nawab is burdened by the upcoming birthday bash of his 5 going on 20 years old son Chhote Nawab . He's advised by his personal Assistant Munshi Gyanchand (S.N. Banerjee) to keep it a low key affair but Safdar (Kumar) his son in law reminds him of his reputation which results in the Nawab taking out a loan from Bhagwati Prasad who's out to exploit him, Nawab places his house as a collateral .
Days after Chhote Nawab's birthday celebration when he's unable to pay back his loan, Bade Nawab suffers a hear attack when Bhagwati comes to reclaim his property.It turns out the idea to get bade Nawab to place his house as a collateral was a plan between Bhagwati and Safdar to usurp Nawabs wealth. However, Bhagwati cheats Safdar out of his share and ends up usurping Bade Nawab's property leaving Safdar penniless. Angry and frustrated at being conned by Bhagwati, Safdar starts mistreating everyone around him including his wife (Minoo Mumtaz) and her brother Chhote Nawab. Unable to take Safdar's humiliating treatments any more Chhote Nawab escapes to Mumbai.
He's found roaming the streets of Mumbai by family friend Nawab Nazir (Nasir Hussain) who takes him home and offers his daughter Roshan N Hussain (Ameeta) as his fiancée . Chhote Nawab comes across as uncouth and after a humiliating episode Chhote Nawab subjects him to Roshan alongside Kanchan (Johnny walker) starts educating Chhote Nawab and transforms him from a bumpkin to a city Slicker. Alas all her hard work soon starts causing jealousy when Sophie (Helen) a night club dancer starts flirting with him. Chhote Nawab starts acting erratically and turns cold towards Roshan and her family, forgetting how they had helped him when he was down and out If all this wasn't enough he gets in with the bad crowd when he becomes friends with Bihari (Anwar Hussain) a gambler whose company causes him to start visiting Kotha's (brothels) as well as become a raging alcoholic. Jaspal Bhatti | The Great Indian Comedian Actor & Director
Jaspal Singh Bhatti (born 3 March 1955, in Amritsar, India) is an Indian television personality famous for his satirical take on the problems of the common man.
He is most well known for his television series Flop Show and mini capsules Ulta Pulta which ran on Doordarshan, India's national television network, in the late 1980s and early 1990s.
Early years
Jaspal Bhatti was born on 3rd march 1955 at Amritsar into a Sikh family. He graduated from Punjab Engineering College, Chandigarh in Punjab, as an electrical engineer. He was famous for his street plays like his Nonsense Club during his college days. Most of these plays were spoofs ridiculing corruption in society. Before venturing out into television, he was a cartoonist for the The Tribune newspaper in Chandigarh.
He married Savita Bhatti on 24 March 1985. In the 1990s, he pioneered the home-made comedy on Indian Hindi TV channel Doordarshan.
Flop show
His low budget Flop Show show in the early 1990s is remembered even today.His wife Savita Bhatti produced the show and also acted in all the episodes as his wife. Only 10 episodes of the show were ever produced, but the show has had a long and powerful legacy and is well-remembered. One of his co-actors Vivek Shauq has been very successful since his stint in Flop Show, having found a footing in Hindi cinema.
Subsequent work
Bhatti's subsequently acted and directed the popular TV series "Ulta Pulta" and "Nonsense Private Limited" for the Doordarshan television network. What attracted audience to his shows was his gift of inducing humour to highlight every day issues of the middle class in India. Bhatti's satire on the Punjab Police Mahaul Theek Hai (1999) was his first directorial venture for a full length feature film in his native Punjabi language. The movie was well received amongst audience for its simple and honest humour. He played the role of Jolly Good Singh, a guard, in the movie Fanaa. He also acted as a comical college principal in Koi Mere Dil Se Poochhe. He also starred in the comedy punjabi film Jijaji.
Bhatti also appeared in SAB TV's "Comedy ka King Kaun" as a Judge,with actress Divya Dutta. In his latest stint, Jaspal Bhatti along with wife Savita competed in popular Star Plus show - Nach Baliye which went on air in October 2008.The couple put their best foot forward to entertain the audiences with their dancing as well as comic skills.The cartoonist, humorist, actor and the filmmaker is now focusing on acting as he is getting numerous offers from Bollywood producers as a comedian.Jaspal Bhatti has now set up and is busy with a training school and studio in Mohali near Chandigarh rightly called "joke factory" which is popular and quite sought after.
After several years now, Bhatti is launched a new 52 episode comedy series entitled "Thank You Jija Ji" on Sony's family entertainment channel, SAB TV. Bhatti, along with wife Savita is busy conducting auditions these days for his new comedy series and other projects. They will be shot at his own MAD Arts film school at Chandigarh.Bhatti at a recent carnival at Chandigarh has put up a stall displaying various vegetables, daal (pulses) and Oils. Also recently Bhatti film school’s - Mad Art’s animation film “Nanhi Chidiya”, on female foeticide, has won the second prize in the Advantage India organized by 1take media. The film has already won a certificate of merit at IDPA-2008 Awards in Mumbai.
